This paper deals with certain second order nonlinear difference equation. In particular, we give sufficient and necessary conditions for the existence of bounded solutions. The application to the discrete boundary value problem which is related to the existence of monotone travelling wave fronts is also given.

V článku je vyšetřována nelineární diferenční rovnice 2. řádu. Jsou odvozeny nutné a postačující podmínky pro existenci ohraničených řešení. Dále je ukázaná aplikace při řešení diskrétního okrajového problému souvisejícího s existencí tzv. travelling wave fronts.
