Phytohormones used in lower concentrations can define tissue culture and determine differentiation potential of plant tissues, but in higher concentrations they can act as a stress factor. Especially, it concerns 2,4- D, which is known as herbicide, and zearalenone, toxic substance extracted from fungi. However, stress plays also an important role as a factor triggering or stimulating cell differentiation in in vitro cultures. The mechanism of phytohormone acting may include stress reaction and some steps of cell induction could be realized on this way. The aim of this work was to determine the level of phytohormones incorporation to the cell and the changes of activity of antioxidative enzymes after phytohormones treatment in winter wheat callus cultures.
