Publikace je teoretickou studií k výzkumu Genderové aspekty přechodu žáků mezi vzdělávacími stupni, který je realizován v letech 2004-05. Studie je zaměřena na školství z hlediska genderu. Na úvod je předkládán koncept genderu a jeho pojetí v sociálních vědách. Genderové zatížení školství je chápáno v souvislosti se zatížením pracovní sféry. Blok zaměřený obecně na gender ve školství obsahuje analýzu zastoupení mužů a žen mezi vyučujícími a studujícími, dále pedagogickou komunikaci, osnovy, učebnice a vzdělávací výsledky z hlediska genderu. Zvláštní část tvoří analýza genderového zatížení v terciálním vzdělávání a vědě výzkumu. Dále jsou popsány všechny stupně českého školství z hlediska zastoupení mužů a žen mezi studujícími a vyučujícími. V závěrečné části je přiblížen cíl, předmět a metodologie realizovaného výzkumu.

The publication is a theoretical study related to the research project Gender aspects of transitions between educational levels which is conducted in 2004-05. The study is focused on education from a gender perspective. The gender approach and its concept in social science is proposed at the beginning. The gender aspects of education are considered in association with those aspects of labour market. The part focused on gender in education in general covers the analysis of participation of men and women among teachers and students, pedagogical communication, curricula, textbooks and educational outcomes from a gender perspective. The gender analysis in university education and in the sphere of science and research is part of the study. In addition all levels of Czech sphere of education are described with begard to representation of men and women among students and trachers. The purpose, objectives and methods of conducted research are outlined in the final part.
