We analyse women´s weekly probabilities of leaving unemployment in the Czech and Slovak Republics (CR and SR) to investigate three questions: a) Why are unemployment rates much lower in the CR than the SR? b) does the unemployment compensation scheme (UCS) substantially lengthen unemployment spells? c) Why are womenŽs unemployment rates higher than menŽs?

Analyzujeme týdenní pravděpodobnosti nalezení zaměstnání u žen v České a Slovenské republice a klademe si tři otázky – a) proč jsou míry nezaměstnanosti nižší v ČR než v SR; b) zda prodlužuje pojištění v nezaměstnanosti dobu jejího trvání; c) proč jsou míry nezaměstnanosti u žen vyšší než u mužů.
