    We examined tmRNA level and protein synthesis in S. aureofaciens, S. griseus and S. collinus during different stress conditions including the presence of subinhibitory concentrations of antibiotics interfering with protein synthesis. Shift down in temperature from 28 °C to 12 °C caused decrease in protein synthesis but the level of tmRNA increased several times. Change in temperature from 28 °C to 37 °C induce decay of tmRNA. At the presence of 1M NaCl protein synthesis was inhibited and tmRNA decayed. Shift in pH from 7.0 to 5.0 had no pronounced effect on tmRNA level in examined streptomycetes. Upshift from pH 7.0 to 9.0 in S. collinus and S. aureofaciens caused inhibition of protein synthesis and decay of tmRNA in S. collinus. In contrast, protein synthesis and tmRNA level increased in S. griseus at the alcaline pH. These results demonstrate that streptomycetes differ in sensitivity to various stresses by changes in activity of protein synthesizing system and tmRNA abundance

    Zkoumali jsme hladinu tmRNA a aktivitu translačního systému za různých stresových podmínek, jako změna teploty, změna pH, koncentrace soli a přítomnost subinhibičních koncentrací různých antibiotik u Streptomyces aureofaciens, S. griseus a S. collinus. Výsledky ukazují, že streptomycety se liší v citlivosti na tyto stresové podmínky změnami aktivity syntézy proteinů a hladiny tmRNA
