Analysis of enzyme kinetics of C-547 inhibition of AChE did not show any significant difference among individual molecular forms of AChE isolated from the striated and heart muscles. Degradation of substrate by heart extract was substantially more resistant to C-547 inhibition than that isolated from muscles. This effect was due to high proportion of BuChE. After the specific inhibition of BuChE by iso-OMPA, the inhibition from heart was comparable to inhibition in striated muscles. Significance of that difference in respect to our knowledge of AChE and to its potential therapeutic use will be discussed
