In summary our results document specific expression of UCP2 in hematopoietic cells from the early stages of their prenatal development, and a surprisingly strong expression of this gene in maturating erytroid cells, including reticulocytes. Our results suggest involvement of UCP2 in erythropoiesis, starting from early stages of the prenatal development
Studie dokumentuje specifické změny exprese UCP2 během prenatálního vývoje hematopoetických buněk a překvapivě vysokou hladinu exprese během maturace buněk červené řady, především v retikulocytech. Uvedené výsledky naznačují významnou úlohu UCP2 v erytropoéze během prenatálního i postnatálního období
