Oblast Kokořínska a Dokeska je charakterizována geologicky, geomorfologicky, klimaticky, botanicky a zoologicky. Cennými prvky jsou iniciální formy vzniku skalních měst, druhotné změny pískovce vyvolané slabým neoidním vulkanismem, mokřady a avifauna.
