L´étude examine les instruments et activités nationaux et internationaux actuels visant a protéger le patrimoine culturel contre les catastrophes naturelles, fournit des examples de bonnes pratiques et décrit les problemes et lacunes observés. Des priorités d´action sont définies sur la base d´une analyse de la législation actuelle et future de l´UE. Compte tenu du nombre croissant de catastrophes naturelles et de leur impact sur le patrimoine culturel, les auteurs recommandent l´intégration horizontale de la protection du patrinoine culturel contre les catastrophes naturelles dans les politiques communautaires concernées.

The study examines current national and international instruments and activities to protect cultural heritage from natural disasters, giving examples of best practices and describing problems and shortcomings. Based on an analysis of current and forthcoming EU legislation, prorities for actions are defined. The authors recommend horizontal integration of the protection of cultural heritage from natural disasters into relevant EU policies.

Studie analyzuje současné národní a mezinárodní nástroje a aktivity zaměřené na ochranu kulturního dědictví před přírodními pohromami. Předkládá příklady nejlepších přístupů a popisuje problémy a nedostatky. Na základě analýzy současné i očekávané legislativy definuje priority pro opatření. Autoři doporučují horizontální integraci ochrany kulturního dědictví před následky přírodních pohrom do odpovídajících oblastí politiky EU.
