The first-derivative method for processing the electron part of the volt-ampere characteristics is applied on data measured by the Langmuir probe at the edge of the CASTOR tokamak. The electron energy distribution function is derived. It is found that the electron distribution exhibits a fraction of non-thermal electrons.
