The subject of the contribution is the relationship between environment and Man at the time of the Linear Pottery (LBK or locally LnK) culture in East Bohemia. Emphasis has been placed on the siting of settlements, their relationship to natural conditions and an attempt to trace settlement trends in the culture under considerations. The LBK settlements in study region form three conspicuous clusters that are associated with watercourses. Three smaller settlement concentrations that should not be overlooked also run along rivers. The basis on which the settlements clustered, and whether there was common interaction between them that might have arisen in the social (descension factors) and economic spheres, is a question of interpretation.

Záměrem práce je vztah environmentu a člověka v období kultury s lineární keramikou (LnK/LBK) ve východních Čechách. Důraz byl kladen na lokalizaci sídlišť, jejich vztah k přírodním podmínkám a na pokus o vysledování trendů v osídlení dané kultury. Osídlení LnK zde vytváří tři výrazné clustery, které jsou vázané na vodní zdroje, a stejně tak i tři menší sídelní koncentrace podél řek. Je otázkou interpretace, na jakém základě docházelo ke shlukování sídlišť a zda mezi nimi probíhala společná interakce, která mohla vycházet ze sféry sociální (descendenční faktory) i ekonomické.
