The series of workshops on Permo-Carboniferous Faunas was initiated in the year 1984 at Muséum national d´Histoire naturelle at Paris. Three another Symposia came later (1988 – Hradec Králové; 1990 – Bad Dürkheim; 1992 – Edinburgh) but then, this very successful series of meetings has been interrupted. We would like to revive the tradition again and invite you to attend the Fifth Symposium on Permo-Carboniferous Faunas. This Symposium, related to IGCP 491 (Middle Palaeozoic Vertebrate Biogeography, Palaeogeography and Climate), will be held at the Museum of Eastern Bohemia under the auspices of the Museum of Eastern Bohemia at Hradec Králové and the Institute of Geology v.v.i., Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, from 7th to 11th July 2008. The Symposium should be of particular interest to Permo-Carboniferous workers specialized in the study of vertebrates, invertebrates, ichnofossils, and to specialists in palaeobiogeography and biochronology of the Late Palaeozoic.
