    Characteristics of carbon acquisition were studied in an herbaceous wetland during a vegetation season with a two a two-week long summer flood, which lasted from 1st July and peaked at 230 cm above soil surface. The wetland (Mokré Louky near Třeboň, Czech Republic) is an unmown sedge grass marsh dominated by Carex acuta. Exchange of CO2 and water vapour between atmosphere and the ecosystem was measured using the eddy-covariance technique. The decrease in the photosynthetic carbon fixation, observed following the flood, was due more to the decrease in functional leaf area than to changed photosynthetic characteristics of live leaves.

    Ukládání uhlíku bylo studováno v mokřadním porostu během vegetačního období se dvěma dvoutýdenní záplavou, která trvala od 1. července a dosahovala až 230 cm nad povrch půdy. Mokřad (Mokré Louky u Třeboně, Česká republika) je nekosená ostřicová bažina s dominující Carex acuta. Výměna CO2 a vodních par mezi atmosférou a ekosystémem byla měřena eddy-kovarianční technikou. Pokles fotosyntetické fixace uhlíku, sledovaný po záplavě, byl spíše díky snížení funkční listové plochy než ve změně fotosyntetických vlastností živých listů.
