In preschool children aged 6 and 4.5 years from the districts of Teplice and Prachatice was recorded the frequency of smokers in their families (data from 1128 questionnaires) and the exposure of these children to environmental tobacco smoke-ETS (analysis of cotinine in urine). The level of exposure was lower in children visiting kindergarten. Smoking of mothers was positively correlated with both cotinine level and the risk of lower respiratory diseases of their children.

U předškolních dětí ve věku 6 a 4,5 let z okresů Teplice a Prachatice byla zjišťována frekvence kouření v jejich rodinách (podle údajů z 1128 dotazníků) a expozice těchto dětí environmentálnímu tabákovému kouři (podle stanovení kotininu v moči). Úroveň expozice byla nižší u dětí, které chodí do mateřské školky. Byla zjištěna pozitivní korelace mezi kouřením matek a hladinou kotininu v moči a také s rizikem onemocnění dolních cest dýchacích u jejich dětí.
