A little-known parasitic nematode, Spinitectus oviflagellis Fourment, 1884 (Cystidicolidae), is redescribed based on the specimens collected from the deep-water fish Macrourus berglax (a new host record) in the eastern Greenland Sea, North Atlantic Ocean. Studies using light and scanning electron microscopy revealed some taxonomically important, previously unreported features. S. oviflagellis is compared with similar congeneric species parasitizing marine fishes.

Dosud málo známá parazitická hlístice Spinitectus oviflagellis Fourment, 1884 (Nematoda: Cystidicolidae) je redeskribována na základě exemplářů získaných z hlubinné ryby Macrourus berglax (nový druh hostitele) z východní části Gronského moře v Severním Atlantiku. Studie pomocí světelného a řádkovacího elektronového mikroskopu ukázaly na některé dříve neuváděné taxonomicky významné znaky. S. oviflagellis je srovnáván s podobnými druhy tohoto rodu cizopasícími v mořských rybách.
