V úvodu autor stručně zmiňuje českou tradici antipolitické politiky a hodnoty, z nichž vychází. Tato tradice, násilně přerušená v nedávné době, byla ve 20. stol. byla spojena s T. G. Masarykem, I. A. Bláhou a posledním reprezentantem mravního étosu v politice, V. Havlem. Autor usiluje včlenit do této tradice politologicko-moralistický rovněž spis napsaný vlámským jezuitou Karlem Grobendoncqem (1600-1672) De ortu et progressu spiritus politici. Grobendoncq patřil k nejvýznamnějším postavám univerzitního života u nás 2. pol. 17. století, byl profesorem morální teologie a Písma a několik let také děkanem teologické fakulty. Spisem z oboru politické filosofie jistě ovlivnil mnoho studentů, představitelů kulturního a politického života své doby, a to nejen v českých zemích. Jeho dílo tak svým způsobem vstupuje do diskursu s mnoha dalšími podobně zaměřenými texty tohoto proudu české politické tradice.

In the introduction the author briefly refers to the Czech tradition of antipolitical politics and the values on which it was based. This tradition, in recent years forcibly interrupted, was in the 20th century connected with T. G. Masaryk, I. A. Bláha and the last representative of this moral ethos in politics and the greatest statesman of the post-communist era, V. Havel. The author tries to incorporate the politological moralistic treatise written by Flemish Jesuit scholar Karl Grobendoncq (1600-1672) De ortu et progressu spiritus politici into this line of thought. By comparison of several sections from this work with some parts of V. Havel´s speeches, the author points out certain affinities and similarities of particular motifs used in the different ages. The author claims that the introduction of morality into the politics of our time can come from the sources that initiated this tradition in Czech lands in the early modern period and which were intensively impressed onto the cultural élite.
