Three basic methods of isolation of polyethylene wear particles from periprosthetic tissues (alkaline, acid and enzymatic) were compared. All the three methods had to be significantly modified to obtain pure polyethylene wear particles.

Byly porovnány tři základní metody isolace polyethylenových otěrových částic. První metoda byla založena na alkalickém, druhá na kyselém a třetí na enzymatickém rozkladu tkání. Všechny tři metody byly ve srovnání s literaturou významně modifikovány tak, aby poskytovaly čisté polyethylenové otěrové částice.
