The Acidification Power (AP) test predicts cells’ metabolic activity by measuring cell-induced medium acidification. It is used world-wide with industrial yeast strains and starter cultures of lactobacilli. Careful reassessment showed that the AP value is affected by many factors, whose effects on AP may vary. On disregarding these effects, the test can give rise to erroneous results that, in the industry, can lead to economical losses

Test acidifikační síly (AP) předpovídá metabolickou aktivitu buněk ze změřené acidifikace média. Je používán celosvětově u průmyslových kmenů kvasinek a laktobacilů. Pečlivé zkoumání ukázalo, že hodnota AP je ovlivněna řadou faktorů, jejichž zanedbání může vést k chybným výsledkům a způsobit ekonomické ztráty v průmyslu
