Příspěvek se snaží o komplexní analýzu vztahu a fungování třetího sektoru a občanské participace v ČR. Obsahuje typologii a strukturu českých neziskových organizací, představuje novou typologii na základě vybraných kritérií, jejich fungování v kontextu střední Evropy i charakter občanské participace coby zapojení občanů ve veřejné sféře. Autorka shrnuje všechna pro i proti českých neziskových organizací a jejich možný budoucí vývoj.

The paper aims to make a complex analysis of how the third sector and civic participation function in the CR. It describes the types and structures of Czech NGOs, introduces a new typology of NGOs based on selected criteria, evaluates how the Czech third sector functions in the CEE context, and further elaborates on notions of participation among Czech citizens. The paper summarises the strengths and weaknesses of Czech NGOs and points to future opportunities and possible risks in this context.
