MG132 (specific reversible proteasomal inhibitor) inhibited gonadotropin stimulated cumulus expansion of pig OCCs after in vitro culture and decreased significantly synthesis of hyaluronic acid (HA). Covalent transfer of heavy chains from inte-alpha trypsin inhibitor to hyaluronic acid did not occur. At the end of culture period OCCs were compact, since ECM was not organized. These results were also confirmed by immunostaining of ECM –associated components (inte-alpha trypsin inhibitor , tumur-necrosis factor -a-induced protein 6 (TSG-6) and hyaluronic acid .
