The supposedly attenuated Hy-HK variant of highly virulent Hypr strain of Tick-borne encephalitis virus is obviously a strain of Langat virus.
[Virus Hy-HK, považovaný za atenuovanou variantu vysoce virulentního kmene Hypr viru klíšťové encefalitidy, je ve skutečnosti kmenem viru Langat.]

The study showed that some of the classical studies (Mayer et al., 1966-1970) focused on the pathogenesis of TBE brought mistaken results because they were based on the experiments with Langat virus instead of TBE virus. Consequently, now it is time to reexamine the general features of TBE pathogensis using modern molecular biology approach. To emphasize the assignment of the Hy-HK variant to Langat virus we propose to use in a new name, e.g. Langat Hy-HK.

Studium viru Hy-HK odhalilo, že klasické práce Mayera a kol. z let 1966 až 1970 věnované patogenezi KE byly chybné, neboť byly založeny na experimentech s virem Langat namísto viru KE. Následně je třeba přezkoumat patogenezi viru KE s využitím moderních metod molekulární biologie. Pro udržení významové souvislosti navrhujeme nové označení viru, např. virus Langat Hy-HK.
