First time the phylogenetic relations within Cypriniformes are first time assessed with nuclear markers. It shows two major clades: one (Cyprinoidea) consisting of Cyprinidae plus the genus Psilorhynchus which was recently considered as loach. The second one (Cobitoidea) includes the families Gyrinocheilidae and Catostomidae (which were by some former studies considered as members of Cyprinoidea) plus the group of fishes known as "loaches". Our study show that they consist of five families. The named enigmatic genera are first time included into molecular-phylogenetic study. For the genus Vaillantella we establish new family Vaillantellidae.

Tato práce se jako první v historii zabývá fylogenetickými vztahy cypriniformích ryb na základě jaderných genů. Výsledky ukazují dvě hlavní monofyletické linie: první (Cyprioidea) zahrnuje č. Cyprinidae plus rod Psilorhynchus, který byl nedávno zahrnut mezi Cobitoidea. Druhá linie (Cobitoidea) zahrnuje č. Gyrinocheilidae a Catostomidae (které byly některými autory považovány na Cyprinoidea) plus skupinu ryb známou v angličtině jako "loaches". Naše výsledky ukazují, že tato skupina zahrnuje 5 čeledí. Jmenované záhadné rody byly poprvé zarhnuty do molekulárně fylogenetické studie. Pro rod Vaillantella jsme ustanovili novou čeleď Vaillantellidae.
