A moderate expression of transgenic resistin in adipose tissue in the SHR was associated with significantly increased FFA/glycerol ratio during adrenaline stimulated lipolysis. Transgenic SHR also exhibited a significant decrease in FFA reesterification in adipose tissue. These findings raise the possibility that the prodiabetic effects of transgenic resistin may be partly mediated by increased FFA release from adipose tissue due to impaired FFA reesterification in adipocytes

Exprese transgenního resistinu v tukové tkáni SHR potkanů byla asociována s významným zvýšením poměru NEMK/glycerol při adrenalinem stimulované lipolýze. Transgenní SHR potkani měli významně redukovanou reesterifikaci NEMK v tukové tkáni. Tyto výsledky naznačují, že by prodiabetické účinky transgenního resistinu mohly být částečně zprostředkovány zvýšenou sekrecí NEMK z tukové tkáně v důsledku redukované reesterifikace NEMK v adipocytech
