Svazek obsahuje celkem devět příspěvků českých a polských historiků jak k dějinám české slavistiky, tak ke vztahům slovanských vědců a jejich postojům k myšlence slovanské vzájemnosti; časově je zaměřen na období od konce 19. století až do osmdesátých let století 20. Podnětem k jeho sestavení byl projekt spolupráce mezi pražským Archivem Akademie věd ČR a krakovským Archivem vědy Polské akademie věd a Polské akademie věd a umění.

The volume contains nine contributions of the Czech and Polish historians both to the history of the Czech Slavonic Studies and to the mutual relations of Slavonic scientists and scholars and their attitude towards the idea of Slav solidarity; as regards the time period, it covers the end of the 19th century to 1980s. The impulse for its compilation was the long-term project of cooperation between the Prague Archives of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and of the Archiwum Nauki of the Polska Akademia Nauki and of the Polska Akademia Umiejętności in Krakow.
