The contribution deals with a theoretical solution of a free surface supercritical flow in a vicinity of submerged body. The solution is based on the Saint-Vennant set of equations of incompressible flow in thin layers. This approach enables to apply a simplified 2D model to solve a real spatial flow. For a comparison 3D solution based on VOF (Volume of Fluid) method was applied, too. To verify a practical applicability of the numerical simulations experimental observations were also performed. The numerical solutions agree quite well with experimental data.
