The rate and pattern of spread of 63 species in the Czech Republic and seven in Britain and Ireland was determined from quadrat records. Species were found that have straight sections on logarithmic, square root and arithmetic plots; the latter (10 of them) are generally casuals. About a third of the species showed lags and many species showed a later slowing of the rate of spread. Typically, with much variation, areas of occupancy double in about ten years (logarithmic mode) or spread at about 2 km yr-1 (square root mode). Both speeds indicate that most spread is from human activity.

Rychlost a způsob šíření 63 zavlečených druhů v ČR a 7 v Británii a Irsku byly analyzovány na základě historického rozšíření v mapovacích čtvercích. Zhruba třetina druhů vykazuje lag fázi a řada z nich zpomalení rychlosti šíření v pozdějších fázích invaze. Počet obsazených čtverců se zdvojnásobí v průměru za 10 let a průměrná rychlost invaze je při studovaném měřítku zhruba 2 km/rok.
