We survey selected results on biorthogonal systems in Banach spaces. The emphasis lies in presenting new (even unpublished)results in this area, notably Todorcevic´s theorem under MA and notCH, claiming that every Banach space of density aleph_1 has a fundamental biorthogonal system.

Tento článek představuje přehled některých starších a nových výsledků z teorie biortogonálních systémů a formuluje též několik otevřených problémů.
