RTesults concerning the influence of a through coating crack on substrate failure sre reported. The critical applied stress for failure of the coated substrate is calculated as a function of elastic misnatch of coating and substrate. An approximative approach based on calculations of crack mouth apening displacement for thin protective layer is suggested.

Jsou uvedeny výsledky týkající se porušování těles s povrchovou ochrannou vrstvou. Je určeno kritické napětí pro porušení podkladu vyvolané existencí trhliny ve vrstvě v závislosti na roydílnosti elastických parametrů vrstva a podkladu. Je navržen jednoduchý postup pro odhad kritického napětí založený na výpočtu otevření trhliny na povrchu vzorku.
