Novel amphiphilic diblock copolymers designed for the preparation of micellar drug delivery systems, consisting of hydrophobic poly(allyl glycidyl ether) and hydrophilic poly(ethylene oxide) polymer blocks, were prepared by living anionic polymerization. Self-assembly of these block copolymers into micellar structures was studied. Three covalent derivatives of these block copolymers are described.
