Článek se zabývá vybranými aspekty geografie zemědělství okresu Frýdek-Místek v Moravskoslezském kraji. V úvodní části je sledováno vymezení zemědělských výrobních oblastí (ZVO), méně příznivých oblastí (LFA) v území a cena zemědělské půdy. Jádrem příspěvku je analýza struktury zemědělských podnikatelů zmiňovaného okresu v transformačním období. Na závěr jsou hodnoceny perspektivy zemědělství z hlediska budoucího zapojení do evropských struktur.

The objective of my article is to analyse the chosen geographical aspects of agriculture of the Frýdek-Místek district in Moravskoslezský Region. The first part deals with the delimitation of the areas of agricultural production, the less favourite areas and the price of agricultural land. The main feature is devoted to description of the structure of agricultural enterprises in this district, especially after the year of 1989. In the end the development opportunities of agriculture in Frýdek-Místek district are indicated.
