The chapter concentrates on three aspects of female politics. First, it looks at the participation of women in politics on both the mass level (in political parties) and the elite level (in parliament). Second, the process of candidate selection in discussed as a key element of inclusion/exclusion of women in elected positions within decision-making bodies. Third, the women’s interest representation is demonstrated with the help of a case study of a proposal in the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament to ban abortion.

Kapitola se věnuje třem tématům, souvisejícím s otázkou uplatnění žen v politice, vztahu žen a politiky 1. analyzuje zastoupení žen v politice na masové úrovni (politické strany) a na úrovni elit (parlament) ; 2. věnuje pozornost výběru kandidátů do voleb, který představuje klíčový moment inkluze či exkluze pokud jde o zastoupení žen ve volených orgánech a zastupitelských sborech; 3. pomocí případové studie návrhu zákona o zákazu interupcí dokumentuje, jak jsou zýjmy žen reprezentovány.
