    Laser Shock Peening treatment on forging dies.

    Technical parameters: The aim of this proven technology is to enhance the performance and longevity of forging dies with Laser Shock Peening (LSP). Forging dies are highly stressed tools frequently subjected to fatigue cracking. These fatigue cracks necessitate the replacement of the dies, resulting in decreased productivity and increased manufacturing costs. LSP surface treatment introduces compressive residual stresses into the surface of the component, which slows down the propagation of cracks or even completely eliminate crack initiation. Consequently, the resistance of forging dies to wear and tear is improved, extending their operational life and reducing the frequency of replacements.
    Economic parameters: Based on the real demand for prolonging the life of tools, the potential of which is described in the marketing study, we assume application in forges such as Nittan, Eaton or Strojmetal. Already during the development itself, there is cooperation with the named companies, and the case study of the project will be carried out on selected dies from companies production.
