In the version of this article originally published, there was an error in the northern blot of control tRNAGluUUC in the lower “aminoacylation” panel of Figure 2b, where the wrong blot–the same as for tRNAGluCUC–was used by mistake. The correct blots showing charging of tRNAGluUUC and tRNAGluCUC controls were included in Supplementary Figure 1, showing the uncropped gel source data. This erroneous blot in Figure 2b has now been replaced with the correct one from Supplementary Figure 1. This oversight does not affect the conclusions of this article. The change is made in the HTML and PDF versions of the article.
