On June 3, 2023, the TRIPTIC-EU team organised the ERC-ACADEMIA Summer School which took place in Velké Meziříčí (CZ) as part of the annual European Festival of Philosophy (see the Summer School programme here).
In the morning section dedicated to the history of science and scholarship, Ota Pavlíček and Lukáš Lička talked about the birth of modern European universities and about optics as a specific discipline of medieval science.
In the afternoon section, Markéta Poskočilová aka Margaritae ars introduced the participants to medieval calligraphy in a workshop during which they learned about the art of medieval handwriting and experienced ‘being’ medieval scribes.
