It is uneconomic to mix these materials with other waste from slaughterhouse processing lines. Other methods of disposal of such wastes (e.g. incineration and composting) are problematic, badly-burnable and slowly decomposable. These materials naturally contain proteins such as collagen or keratin. Pure collagen is gelatin. It is used in food industry as an ingredient with a reduced fat content, and it serves as a food joint. Moreover, it supplies necessary amino acids and nutrition important for the regeneration of cartilage and skin, which also makes it highly usable for dermatological purposes.
