The aim of the chapter is to give concrete examples of classical reception in Czech literature at the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth century, and show different attitudes toward the classical tradition in the works of three distinctive authors: Jaroslav Vrchlický, Jiří Karásek ze Lvovic, and Josef Svatopluk Machar.
