Microsporidia were detected at all sampling sites – its the 1st report in captive great apes and the 1st record of natural infection with E. hellem in great apes. Sequence analyses of ITS amplicons determined the presence of microsporidia in 87 samples including 13 humans; since 2 cases of simultaneous occurrence of Enc. cuniculi and Ent. bieneusi were identified, 89 full-length ITS sequences were obtained, namely 78 E. cuniculi genotype I, 5 E. cuniculi genotype II, 2 E. hellem 1A and 4 Ent. bieneusi. No Enc. intestinalis-positive samples were identified. Pracoviště Biologické centrum (od r. 2006) Kontakt Dana Hypšová, eje@eje.cz, Tel.: 387 775 214 Rok sběru 2012
