    AnotaceDer Autor befasst sich mit Friedrich Wannieck, einem Brünner Unternehmer und Gönner, der sich auch intensiv am Gesellschaftsleben beteiligte. Die Grundlage seiner gesellschaftlichen Stellung stellte der Besitz einer prosperierenden Maschinenfabrik dar. Sein national orientiertes Denken hat ihn zur Tätigkeit zugunsten der deutschen Gemeinde, die nicht nur in Brünn, sondern in ganz Mähren anzutreffen war, vorherbestimmt. Wannieck hat entscheidend zur Errichtung des Deutschen Hauses beigetragen, das ab 1891 als Zentrum sämtlicher deutscher Gemeinschafts-, Kultur- sowie politischer Aktivitäten in Brünn diente. Außerdem unterstütze er die Gründung von Stipendienprogrammen für Studenten der Deutschen Technischen Hochschule Brünn, die Tätigkeit des Mährischen Gewerbemuseums, sowie des Mährischen Kunstvereins. Nicht zuletzt machte er sich um die Verbesserung der Lebenssituation seiner Arbeiter verdient, als er den Verein für den Aufbau von billigen Wohnungen unterstützte.
    Překlad anotaceThe author’s interest lies with the personality of Friedrich Wannieck, an entrepreneur, social life organizer and patron from Brno. The basis of his social standing was created due to ownership of prosperous machinery works, which produced mainly equipment for sugar refineries. His outstanding nationalist persuasion predestined him to work for the benefit of the German community living not only in Brno, but all over Moravia. Wannieck significantly contributed to the standing of the German house, which served as a centre of all German club, cultural and political activities in Brno from 1891. He also supported the establishment of a scholarship for students of the German Technical School in Brno and activities of the Mährisches Gewerbemuseum and Mährischer Kunstverein. Last but not least he has merit in improvement of the lives of his employee workers by supporting their sickness fund and an association engaged in building cheap apartments.
