    AnotaceThe article focuses on the development of inequalities in student achievement and educational inequalities in compulsory and secondary education in the Czech Republic in the post-communist period. Tha analyses are carried out on the data from the interantional comparative surveys and use the method of multilevel modelling. The findings are interpreted in the context of the Czech educational system, its structure, history and priorities.
