Both nematodes were found being able to colonise both living and dead Galleria mellonella (Lepidoptera) and Blatella germanica (Blattodea) and dead Poecilus cupreus and wireworms (Coleoptera). By scavenging EPNs can utilize cadavers of insects that are naturally resistant to EPN infection and so broaden their host range. Possible mechanisms of the insect resistance to EPNs are discussed.
