AnotaceThe paper describes a new method of landscape protection against floods based on application of a new technology for the fast and effective closing of breakdown, heightening, consolidation or building new levees, elimination of local impact of water erosion, for the saving and security measures against landslide during flood events. The technology can be also used for the closure and tightening of admittance of surface and subsurface spaces in mines. The new technology is based on using of special large-volume bags and mattresses, made of highly firm fabric and filled hydraulically by a mixture of water and an environmentally acceptable, locally available loose material. Filling of the bag is performed by a mobile slurry pump. Three types of long cylindrical bags for building or heightening of levees, mattresses for protection against direct water impact or land slide and building-brick bags for closing of breakdown were tested in laboratory and in pilot case studies.
