A series of measurements was undertaken to find the parameters influencing gas permeability. The changes in permeability of coal samples during deformation process were determined even after the postfailure part. The samples were tested either at increasing confining pressures (5 to 50 MPa) or with a constant confining pressure and increasing axial stress.
