This study analyzed and compared several parameters derived from the time series of the UE activity for short- and middle-term experiments. The comparison between linear correlation coefficients, nonlinear correlation coefficients, variogram values and fractal dimensions is carried out. All analyzed parameters show precursor behaviour prior to the rock sample total failure. Developed multi-channel algorithm, based on artificial neural networks, is proposed for the discrimination between stable and unstable state of rock sample.
