Some authors such as Ole Hjorland have recently propounded the thesis that logic is not a particularly exceptional discipline when it comes to how we revise its theses. This view is understood as a reaction to a more traditional view that logic in some important sense is exceptional or even completely unrevisable. I question the very notion of holding a given logical law to be valid and reasoning accordingly. I illustrate problems of both exceptionalism and anti-exceptionalism, as both the opposite theses appear in Quine. Possibilities of steering clear from both the radical opposite theses are hinted at.
