This study described the detail information about the first finding of Mermessus trilobatus spider in České Budějovice, which was introduced into Europe from North America. First record about that species in Europe was approximately 25 years ago. Spiders were monitored in the maize field 14 ha in large close to Žabovřesky area in the vicinity of České Budějovice town. The pitfall traps (125 pc) 8cm in diameter (containing suspension of 10% of salty water and 2-3 drops of detergent) were collected during the experimental seasons 2009-2011. M. trilobatus represents only very small part of all trapped specimens. During the whole experimental years the ratio of aimed species in compare with total number of all specimens trapped was 0.02% (5 specimens of M. trilobatus and 32 617 specimens of all species).
