Applications of new plant biotechnologies have given rise to novel design for generating valuable recombinant protein pharmaceuticals. Plants represent a practical and economical alternative to microbial and animal cell factories, and transgenic animals, for the production of clinically useful proteins. We describe strategies for seed specific expression of oral immunogens.
