Při způsobu kultivace kmenů mikrořas se v jednom bioreaktoru se současně kultivují alespoň jeden kmen mikrořas převážně s akumulací karotenoidů ve své buněčné biomase a alespoň jeden jiný kmen mikrořas převážně s akumulací polynenasycených mastných kyselin ve své buněčné biomase. Přednostně se kultivují jako kmen převážně s akumulací karotenoidů ve své buněčné biomase zelené řasy z řádu Sphaeropleales, zejména zelená řasa Scenedesmus sp., a jako kmen převážně s akumulací polynenasycených mastných kyselin ve své buněčné biomase eustigmatofytní řasy z řádu Eustigmatales, zejména eustigmatofytní řasa Trachydiscus sp, nebo eustigmatofytní řasa Trachydiscus minutus. Kmeny mikrořas kultivovaných způsobem podle vynálezu se používají jako nutriční doplněk pro výživu zvířat i výživu člověka a k extrakci směsi polynenasycených mastných kyselin a karotenoidů.
