Na příkladu známé rožmberské knihovny, která na počátku 17. století obsahovala unikátní soubor 44 bratrských tisků a 17 rukopisů, představuje tento příspěvek českobratrskou literaturu jako komunikační prostor mezi Jednotou bratrskou a šlechtickým dvorem na straně jedné a mezi šlechtickým prostředím a jeho širším okolím na straně druhé. Analytický rozbor této sbírky ukázal, že její velikost a celkový charakter úzce závisel na proměnlivém osobním vztahu Petra Voka k této církvi a na jeho stoupající osobní politické angažovanosti. Je tedy možné konstatovat, že v pozadí budování rožmberského souboru bratrských knih více než náboženské důvody hrálo zásadní roli sběratelské hledisko kombinované s politickými a společenskými motivy.

Taking the example of the well-known Rosenberg library, which in the early 17th century contained a unique collection of 44 works printed by the Brethren and 17 manuscripts, this article presents the literature of the Bohemian Brethren as an opportunity for communication between the Unity of Brethren and the aristocratic court on the one hand, and between the aristocratic milieu and its wider environment on the other. Analysis of this colection has shown that its size and overall character was closely related to the changing personal relationship of Petr Vok to this church, and to his increasing personal political involvement. It is therefore possible to say that religious reasons were of less importance in building up the Rosenberg collection of Brethren books, the main role was played by an interest in collecting combined with political and social factors.
