Three monogenoidean (Dactylogyridae) species were found on the gills of gerreids (Gerreidae): Aristocleidus hastatus Mueller, 1936 was recovered from Eugerres plumieri and Diapterus auratus in Veracruz, from D. auratus and Diapterus rhombeus in Yucatán, from Eugerres brasilianus in Panama (all new hosts and geographical records), and from D. peruvianus and Gerres cinereus in Guerrero; Aristocleidus lamothei Kritsky and Mendoza-Franco, 2008 was recovered from E. plumieri in Veracruz and from D. rhombeus in Yucatan (new hosts and geographical records), and Aristocleidus sp. was recovered from G. cinereus in Guerrero. Results from this study suggest that species of Aristocleidus exhibit wide host specificity within gerreid fishes.

Následující tři druhy monogeneí (čeleď Dactylogyridae) byly nalezeny na žábrách mořských ryb čeledi Gerreidae: Aristocleidus hastatus Mueller, 1936 na Eugerres plumieri a Diapterus auratus ve státě Veracruz, na D. auratus a Diapterus rhombeus na Yukatánu, na Eugerres brasilianus v Panamě (všechny ryby představují nové hostitele a jedná se o první zeměpisné záznamy)), a na D. peruvianus a Gerres cinereus ve státě Guerrero; Aristocleidus lamothei Kritsky et Mendoza-Franco, 2008 byl nalezen na E. plumieri ve Veracruzu a na D. rhombeus na Yukatánu (nové hostitelské a zeměpisné záznamy), a Aristocleidus sp. byl zjištěn na G. cinereus v Guerreru. Výsledky této studie naznačují širokou hostitelskou specifičnost u zástupců rodu Aristocleidus, kteří se vyskytují na mnoha rybách čeledi Gerreidae.
