    The study deals with an important period in the history between Europe and Asia, the period of Mongolian Empire. It is concentrated mainly to a Franciscan traveller to East Asia - Odoric of Pordenone - and his appraisal of China of his time. This study is a part of international project of study of cultural (namely religious) contacts between Europe and Asia during the Middle Ages.
